Furious 7 - Watch It

Thoughts - Chappie takes us back to the gritty world director Neill Blomkamp showed us in District 9 and doesn't disappoint. This is an interesting movie you should give a try.

Synopsys:

In the near future, crime is patrolled by an oppressive mechanized police force. But now, the people are fighting back. When one police droid, Chappie, is stolen and given new programming, he becomes the first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself. As powerful, destructive forces start to see Chappie as a danger to mankind and order, they will stop at nothing to maintain the status quo and ensure that Chappie is the last of his kind.

Chappie - Watch It

Thoughts - What can I say Furious 1 was good, 2 was meh, 3, 4, 5, were ok, 6 was good, and now 7 shows us why this franchise has staying power. Pretty people with pretty cars doing outlandish stunts with many dramatic, comical, and action packed scenes. This is why we go to the movies people to lose outselves in a world that doesn't exist for a time.

I recommend it even if only at matinee.

Synopsys:

Dominic Toretto, Brian O'Conner, and the rest of their crew, who have returned to the United States to live normal lives after securing amnesties for their past crimes in Fast & Furious 6, until Deckard Shaw, a rogue special forces assassin seeking to avenge his comatose younger brother (bad guy from Furious 6), puts them in danger once again.

Thoughts - This is a good movie but not a great one. They do a decent enough job with the story that you can easily see a path forward for Marvel to continue to make more solo and or team movies that can be tied together to an overarcing plot which is confirmed by the sneak peek at the end of the movie. I for one hope that more superhero movies take notes from the successful comic book movies of the last decade and a half and continue to make good on their potential.

Synopsys:

When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and it is up to The Avengers to stop the villainous Ultron from enacting his terrible plans.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron - Watch It

Thoughts - This is a good Mad Max film which I hope you were able to seen in the theater. It is worth the price of admission just for the practical special effects stunt work alone which was almost exclusively done using real vehicles and stunt people.

Synopsys:

From director George Miller, originator of the post-apocalyptic genre and mastermind behind the legendary “Mad Max” franchise, comes “Mad Max: Fury Road,” a return to the world of the Road Warrior, Max Rockatansky as he continues to try to survive.

Mad Max: Fury Road - Watch It

Thoughts - A good sequel, maybe not worth the over $500 billion world wide it took in over its openning weekend but good none the less.  There's something about this property that just hits the right niche, dinos looking cute, chasing, and eatting people, oh my.

Synopsys:

Well they did it again, openned a park and forgot that nature finds a way. Especially when you genetically engineer a bigger, badder, dino.
